Press cloth

Most fabrics that are to be pressed on the right side should be pressed under a pressing cloth. A press cloth is a layer of protective material placed between working area and the iron. Selection of press cloth depends upon the kinds of fabric to be pressed. It can provide moisture or assist in drying. It can allow pressing without leaving marks or shine. The best press cloths are 100% cotton or 100% linen, preferably old and the limp. A piece of soft wool fabric may be used to press woolen garments.
