Family living is becoming more and more complex in its modern society due to the advancement in economy education systems science and technology and the speed of growth. In traditional Indian homes the home making and management activities were passed on easily from mother to children or from elder women in the family to young women in joint family systems. But in the present family system the mother is also occupied outside her home in economic activities for linger hours and she has very little time to pass on her knowledge on home making and management to the children.
Management always relates to resources. It is the purposeful activity performed to achieve the set goals through efficient use of resources. It is an activity oriented process in which results are reached systematically with the effort of the people. Management is a means of accomplishing desired goals and desired outcomes with in people.
