French door

Glass doors

French doors are often used in residences to open out onto a balcony or patio. They have wooden frames and may consist of one sheet of plate glass or may have multiple lights on each door. French doors are most often installed in pairs and usually open out. Glass doors may be pivoted or sliding panel with second panel stationary. The common factors affecting glass choice are: Solar control, Acoustic insulation, Thermal insulation, Strength and Visual appearance.

Folding doors

Folding doors (or accordion doors) have a multiple panels which fold upon one another. Self Bolting door principle - It is very useful one in nowadays. It can fold to many layers. We can see this type of doors in new buildings. These doors are often used to cover a broad space where a straight door’s swing would be bulky or controlled. This door opens by folding back in sections. These interior doors combine the actions of both hinged and slider doors. This door uses both end pivots and overhead tracks

Revolving Doors

Such doors are provided only in public buildings, such as libraries museums, banks etc. where there are constant visi­tors. Such a door provides en­trance to one and exit to the other person simultaneously, and closes automatically when not in use. This door is also suitable for air-conditioned buildings or for buildings situ­ated at a place where strong breeze blow throughout the year, since the door is so assembled that it excludes the wind drought. The door consists of a centrally placed mullion to which four radiating shutters are attached.

Sliding Doors

In such a door, the shutter slides on the sides with the help of runners and guide rails. The door may have one sliding shutter, two shutters or even three shut­ters, depending upon the size of the opening and the space available on sides for sliding.

Swing Doors

A Swing door has its leaf attached to the door frame by means ofspecial double action spring hinge, so that the shutter can move both inward or outward as de­sired. Generally, such doors have single leaf, but two leafs can also be provided. Such doors are not rebated at the meeting styles, the clos­ing edges of which should be segmental.

Rolling Steel Shutter

The frame has steel guides on the sides in which the shutter moves, and then coils in the drum. A horizontal shaft and springs are provided in the drum, due to which the shutter is opened or closed by small push or pull. Rolling shutters are of two types : (i) pull-push type shutters', and (ii) mechani­cal gear type shutters. The for­mer type is provided when the area of door-opening does not exceed 10 Sq. m.

Wire-Gauged Doors

These types of doors are provided to check the entry of flies, mosquitoes, insects etc. Wire Mesh is provided in the panels, and therefore they permit free passage of air. Such doors are commonly used for refreshment rooms, hotels, cupboards contain­ing food and eatables, and sweet shops etc.
