NUTRIENT REQUIREMENTS FOR MAINTENANCE OF GOATS

Maintenance

  • Adult body weight of goats may vary from 15 to 45 kg in different breeds. There are also does and bucks that weigh up to 60 kg.
  • Nutrient requirements for maintenance of adult goats are, therefore, given for body weights ranging from 15 to 60 kg.
  • On an average, the TDN and DCP requirements for maintenance are 30 g and 3.0 g/w
