Ducks are mainly reared for egg production and are concentrated in eastern and southern states of India. Indian breeds of ducks are Indian Runner, Nageshwari, Sythetemete, Kuttanadu Chara and Chemballi. Khaki Campbel – a synthetic breed is being used as an improver breed.
