DISADVANTAGES

• If the concentration is too low, the pigs will not be properly stunned.
• If the concentration is to high, there is a tendency for pigs to become stiff and bleed poorly.
• If the exposure period is too long, superficial congestion of the skin occurs and when the pigs are scalded the skin is bluish in colour.
