Eruption of teeth in horse

  • 9 days – Central incisors (temporary)
  • 9 weeks – Lateral incisors (temporary)
  • 9 months – Corner incisors (temporary)

Wearing of emporary teeth

  • 1 Year – Central incisor
  • 11/2 Year – Lateral incisor
  • 2 years – Corner incisor

Eruption of permanent teeth

  • 21/2 Years – Central incisor
  • 31/2 Years – Lateral incisor
  • 41/2 years – Corner incisor

Disappeareance of dental mark

    • 6th Year – Central incisors
    • 7th Year – Lateral incisors - takes in lower jaw
    • 8th Year – Corner incisors
    • 9th Year – Central incisors
    • 10th Year – Lateral incisors - taken in upper jaw
    • 11th Year – Corner incisors
  • When the dental mark disappears, the dental star reappears.

Galvayne's groove

  • It is a depression on the labial surface of the corner incisors. This appears at the end of 10th year.
  • At the end of 15th year the groove reaches ½ the teeth.
  • At the end of 20 years the groove reaches the whole end of the teeth.
  • At the end of 25 year the groove is present only in lower part.
