INVOLUNTARY AND VOLUNTARY GROUP

  • Involuntary group is one, for the membership of which, an individual does not have any choice or is not required to put any effort. Ex. Membership by birth or residence such as family, caste, etc.
  • Voluntary group is one for the membership of which one has to have some deliberate choice or put in some conscious effort. Ex. Cooperative society, youth clubs etc.
