SUGGESTION TO ENHANCE THE USE OF OHP

• Arrange the transparency in an order.
• Start by projecting the outline to show what will be presented.
• Stand by the side of the projector and ensure that you are not obstructing the view of the audience.
• Face the audience while presentation.
• Place the visual on the OHP table.
• Switch on the projector.
• Use the pointer to direct attention on the transparency.
• Switch off the projector when not needed.
• Avoid walking in front of the projector.

Advantages

• Make the talk dynamic and sustain audience interest.
• Complex ideas may be clearly presented.
• Saves time in presenting the topic.
• Projection of pictures may be synchronized with the topic.
• Enables the speaker to face the audience and observe their reaction.
• Enables the audience to take notes.
• Easy to prepare and project the instructional material.
• Materials for transparency are cheap and easily available.

Disadvantages

• Requires good preparation by the speaker.
• OHP equipment is a bit costly (Rs.10,000/-). However it is relatively cheaper than other electrically operated projectors.
• Can be used only for small groups.
