Handling and use of slide projector

SLIDE PROJECTOR

  • Slide is a small piece of film or other transparent material containing a single pictorial or graphic image.

Aim

  • To vitalize an entire teaching session.
  • To make the topic or lesson remain vividly in the memory of large number of learners.
  • To make the abstract facts more understandable and interesting.

Principle

  • Slide projector functions under the principle of direct projection. The slide and movie projectors are based on direct projection.

Direct projection

  • In such projections the rays of light directly come from the projection lamp, pass through the condensor lens, the object, the objective lens and finally the enlarged image appears on the screen. The loss of light in this projection is very negligible.

  • Positive film prints and
  • Paper or plastic slide mounts.
