Tips for using flash cards

TIPS FOR USING FLASH CARDS

  • Before using flashcards in front of the audience rehearse by using them repeatedly.
  • Before going to the meeting arrange the cards logically by numbering them at the back.
  • See that the cards are clear.
  • Hold the card in your left palm on to your chest so that the audience can clearly see the card.
  • The group should not normally comprise more than 30 persons.
  • Do not flash the cards for prolonged period of time.

Advantages

  • Easy to make, carry and handle.
  • Cheaper to make and can be used again and again.
  • Provides suspense and sequence.
  • Facilitates transfer of technical knowledge to illiterate people.
  • Logical presentation keeps the audience attentive.

Limitations

  • Suitable for small groups only.
  • Requires skill and time for preparation and practice.
