Stomach tubing is a quick and relatively painless method to deliver large quantities of liquid medication of fluids.

The length of the oesophagus is measured by keeping the probang from the mouth to the 9th rib.

The animals tongue is grasped gently and held firmly before introduction of the probang.

By a careful manner the probang is advanced to the oesophagus

The movement or passage of probang in the oesophagus is visible or palpable from out side at the cervical part of oesophagus.

The rumen cud is expelled through the probang if it enters into the rumen.

The animal's head is lowered to recover the ruminal fluid and to avoid aspiration.

Simultaneous compression of rumen yields large quantity of rumen liquor.

Passing of stomach tube is most useful in cattle in cases of ruminal free gas bloat as well as ruminal acidosis.
