Conclusion

CONCLUSION

Conclusion

  • M.P.T establishes whether or not the blood composition of a dairy herd or an individual cow is normal
  • Blood composition becomes abnormal only when homeostasis is apparently upset.
  • A satisfactory way to monitor blood composition routinely will be to use mini profile or individual preventive examination at regular interval, between full Compton metabolic profile tests performed say bi-annually.

Limitations

  • Must be carefully planned
  • Expensive
  • Regional laboratory with automated analytical equipment and trained staff is needed
  • Local population data base (means) for each parameter should be available
