Conclusion
Conclusion
-
M.P.T establishes whether or not the blood composition of a dairy herd or an individual cow is normal
-
Blood composition becomes abnormal only when homeostasis is apparently upset.
-
A satisfactory way to monitor blood composition routinely will be to use mini profile or individual preventive examination at regular interval, between full Compton metabolic profile tests performed say bi-annually.
Limitations
- Must be carefully planned
- Expensive
- Regional laboratory with automated analytical equipment and trained staff is needed
- Local population data base (means) for each parameter should be available
