WHAT IS EXTRA-LABEL DRUG USE?

• Any drug should be used in accordance with the manufacturer's label or product insert.
• Drug not used as per manufacturer's label has to meet the "extra-label" drug use recommendations
• When used e xtra label there should be veterinary care
• Extra label use is also applied to when you change the dose or route of administration
• Extra-label drug becomes legal when there is no other treatment alternative and animal is in need of it
• Unapproved drugs cannot be used "off-label" to improve performance or control reproduction.
