MORTALITY RATE

• It is measure of number of deaths (amount of death) due to disease in a population

Mortality Rate	=	No. of animals died due to disease ———————————————————————————— x 100 Total no. of animals at risk
Cumulative Mortality Rate	=	No. of individuals that died during a particular period —————————————————————————————————— x 100 No. of individuals in a population at the beginning of the period
Proportional Mortality Rate	=	No. of animals died with a specified cause             ———————————————————————— x 100 Total no. of deaths due to all causes
Crude Mortality Rate	=	Total no. of animals dying           ———————————————— x 100 Total no. of animals
Neonatal Mortality Rate (NMR)	=	Death within 4 weeks of birth              —————————————————— x 100 Number of live births
Calf Mortality Rate (CMR)	=	Number of calves dying up to weaning            —————————————————————— x 100 Number of live born calves
Proportional Mortality Ratio (PMR)	=	Death from a specific cause ————————————————  Total death from all cause
