They include snow trouts (s chizothoracids) , peninsular carps - rohu ( Labeo rohita ), mrigal ( Cirrhinus mirgala ), catla ( Catla catla ), lanchi or mulley ( Wallago attu ), singhara or shovelhead ( Aorichthys seenghala ), the lesser snakeheads ( Channa spp. ), goonch (Bagarius bagarius) and needlefish ( Xenentodon cancila ).
