Artificial vegetative reproduction

    • Multiplication of plants by vegetative parts through artificial method by human effort is known as artificial vegetative reproduction.
    • Such reproduction is done by cuttings of stem and roots, and by layering, grafting and budding.

    Examples of such reproduction are given below

    Stem cuttings: Tapioca (Manihot esculenta) grapes (Vitis vinifera), roses, etc.
    Root cuttings: Bread fruit, Sweetpotato etc.
