OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease - “COPD” is a coomon disease of equines and also called as Heaves/ Asthma.
  • Allergic reaction thought to initiate the disese. 
  • It's prevalence increases with  age.
    Inflammation, chronic bronchoconstriction, thickened bronchi. Increased expiratory effort, exercise intolerance, cough and afebrile is the disease nature.
  • Diagnosis: Endoscopy, Tracheo bronchial aspiration, thoracic auscultation of expiratory wheezes.
  • Traetment with environmental changes, antiinflammatories, steroids, bronchodilators.
