 DIAGNOSIS

CBC/Biochemistry/Urinalysis

  • Hypoalbuminemia and hypercholesterolemia are common.
  • Persistent, significant proteinuria with an inactive urine sediment (hyaline casts may be observed)

Other Laboratory Tests

  • Urine Protein:Creatinine Ratio
  • Protein Electrophoresis 

Imaging

  • No specific changes on abdominal radiographs or renal ultrasound
  • Can use ultrasonography to guide percutaneous renal biopsy
