TYPES OF PERCUSSION

  • In large animal practice, percussion is commonly practiced by using a small soft tipped acoustic hammer to produce different types of percussion resonance. A flat type of pleximeter made up of acoustic material is to be held at the site during percussion.
  • To produce a sufficient pain without any damage to the body a fairly heavy hammer (plexor) with nylon head of proper weight is used.
