Percussion sounds on the left abdomen

PERCUSSION SOUNDS ON THE LEFT SIDE

  • Dorsal accumulation of gas within the rumen, not under pressure.
  • Relative damping over the heart and over that part of the rumen filled with coarse feed.
  • Fluid-filled parts of the abomasum and rumen.
  • Accumulation of gas in the displaced abomasum, under tension.
  • Pain percussion of reticulum is also carried-out with a fairly heavy pain hammer. Any tender area is then delineated by percussion along vertical lines
