Preservation of sample

Preferable preservative

- 95% ethanol @ 1ml/g of tissue
- Avoid use of formalin as it interferes with many tests.

Storage of sample
|
- Refrigerator or deep freeze
|
Container requirement
|
- Plastic bags or jars; Glass containers
- Avoid jars with metal screws when metal poisoning is suspected
|
Precautions
|
- Do not wash the sample with water before packing and dispatching
|
