METHODS OF SEMEN COLLECTIONS

• Bull semen can be collected by artificial vagina, by electro ejaculation, or by manual massage of the pelvic genitalia (Vesicular glands, ampullae, and pelvic urethra).
• The artificial vagina is an expedient method for collection of the semen sample.
• This method offers the advantage of simultaneous evaluation of mating ability and, to some extent, libido during the collection.
