UN Declaration of the Rights of Disabled

The right to

  1. Same fundamental rights as other human beings. The right to enjoy a decent life as normal as possible.
  2. To respect for their human dignity.
  3. To the same civil and political rights as their fellow citizens.
  4. To the measures enabling them to become as self reliant as possible.
  5. To medical, psychological and functional treatment, rehabilitation and placement services to help develop their skills, fostering their process of social integration.
  6. To economic and social security providing them with a decent level of living to work according to their capacities in a useful, productive and remunerative occupation.
  7. To their special needs in all stages of social and economic planning.
  8. To live with their family and participate in all social, creative and recreational activities. In case of persons requiring special establishments, their environment and living condition shall be as normal as possible.
  9. Protection against exploitation and discrimination.
  10. To legal aid.
  11. To enjoy these rights, regardless of race, sex, color, religion, nation and social origin.
