Monitoring and Controlling for Quality

Monitoring and controlling are defined as the evaluative and action function of maintaining high quality in the promised services.

  • Monitors compliance with standards, and acts to maintain high standards of performance in every unit of the center. Visiting units on a daily basis provides the manager with information.
  • Listens to and understands others’ views. In leading staff members to high-quality performance it is essential to practice good communication skills. Stress is reduced when individuals feel their view is respected.
  • Maintains objectivity in evaluating problems and issues. A cool, calm manner of facing and dealing with problems is essential. An attitude of seeking information before acting is part of careful management.
