Lesson 9 : Decision Making

Types of decisions

According to Simon (1977). The types of decisions include

1. Programmed- These are repetitive and routine decisions for example paying rent, transport charges, staff salaries etc.
2. Non-programmed decisions: These are unstructured, novel and consequential decisions. Ex. If the telephone stops working suddenly, then decision need to be taken at that point to overcome that situation.
