Introduction

Waterproofing or damp proofing is a treatment for mortar or concrete, either as an admixture or a surface coating, to impede the passage or absorption of water or vapour. Different parts of the building can be treated against dampness. Damp proof course treatment can be applied to foundations, basements, floor walls, roof and so on. The procedure of damp proofing treatment to different parts of building structure are explained below.
