  1. Madder is one of the most important and useful natural dyes because its roots contain alizarin, one of the most valuable red dye pigments ever known. It has been used for producing purple, brown and even red shades on cotton and wool.

  3. Indigo’s ability to produce an extensive range of beautiful blue shades has made it the most successful dye plant ever known.

    Yellow is obtained from the stigmata of the saffron plant, a member of crocus family.
  4. -Logwood, obtained from the pulp of the logwood tree grown in Central American states and West Indies is widely used for dyeing silks in blacks.
