Lesson 1 : Multimedia - Concept, Importance and Application

Categories of multimedia

Linear and non-linear.

1. Linear active content progresses without any navigation control for the viewer such as a cinema presentation.
2. Non-linear content offers user interactivity to control progress and is also known as hypermedia content.

Live or recorded.

1. A recorded presentation may allow interactivity via a navigation system.
2. A live multimedia presentation may allow interactivity via interaction with the presenter or performer.
