Interactivity – definition

  • In the Multimedia, interactivity can be termed as the dialog that occurs between an individual and a computer program.
  • Interactivityis the processes by which the user acts upon and reacts to information utilizing the available computer hardware.
  • Interactive multimedia refers to the multimedia applications that allow users to actively participate rather than being passive recipients of information.

It is one of the key concepts in computer environments. Interactivity can take place at a range of levels in terms of the computer hardware and software, and also the extent to which the user can shape the user environment according to desired outcomes. Interactivity is strongly related to interface design.
