Lesson 11: Multimedia Building Blocks – Text, Animation
Animation Parameter
Several graphical attributes can be animated. Here is a list of the most important ones:
Colour: The colour of an element can be changed either linear (calculates the inbetween colours) or discrete (jumps from one colour to another).
Opacity / Transparency: The opacity value (between 0 and 1) of an element can be animated either linear (as it is in the example to the right) or discrete (blinking objects).
Stroke-Width: The stroke-width of an element that possesses a stroke can be animated. The stroke-width can have an arbitrary but reasonable value.
Fill Pattern: A shape can be filled with a pattern. This pattern can be animated as well.
Stroke Pattern: The stroke of an element can for instance be dashed or have a pattern like cartographic objects (e.g. railwayroads). These stroke patterns can be animated.
Filter Parameter: Filters are used to add special effects to shapes and text (e.g. object with a blurred shadow offset slightly to the side). These filter effects can be animated.
