These people require techniques and special services to fulfill their needs. Rural women, besides serving as farm manager or agricultural labourer, also have a role of a home maker. Therefore, in addition to specific information about agricultural production, she requires knowledge of food preservation and storage, value addition, right food preparation for home consumption, home management, and family health and nutrition, child rearing and many others, that all are of concern to them and need information through extension services.
