9.2.4. Interrenal tissue‘Baecker’-1928 and ‘Dettus’-1940 have described the interregnal tissue of many fishes.Abion-1940 has made an extensive review of the literature.In Elasmobranchs interregnal is located posteriorly in one or more compact masses between the opisthonephric and is discreate enough to permit surgical removal.In teleosts the interregnal gland is located historically.here it is confined to the cranial regions of the head kidney.
