Testing and evaluation of formulated feeds on fish growth and survival

The different fish feeds prepared under section 2 above may be used for testing and evaluation of formulated feeds on fish growth and survival

Protocol

• Study may be conducted in aquarium or pre fabricated small cement tubs of 1 m¬¬2
• The required water quality parameters like dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, pH, total alkalinity and total ammonia nitrogen.
• The feed may be administered at the rate of 5% of the body weight.
• The experiment may be carried out for a minimum period of 45 days or more
• The survival rate may be calculated as percent survival.
• At the end of experimental period growth may be assed in terms of percent weight gain, FCR, SGR, and PER over control diet as detailed below.
