Learning Objectives

This unit deals with formation of current, features of current, measurement of current, and forces acting on seawater. This unit also deals with Ekman spirals, upwelling, sinking, gradient current thermohaline circulation and major ocean currents. In this unit the student learn about currents, methods of formation, the significances of some major ocean currents and effects of El-Nino.
