Effective use of Audio Visual Aids

1. Planning

  1. Know clearly the objective of the presentation.
  2. Plan well in advance about the problem and solution.
  3. Make sure the ideas suitable for the audience make sure the size of the audience and make sure the aids are visible and audible to the entire audience.
  4. Plan for the use of colourful visual aids as it may help the pace of presentation and help to hold audience interest.
  5. Determine the timing of the presentation.

2. Preparation

  1. Select the convenient place with acoustic and seating arrangements suited to the audience.
  2. Anticipate need for special lightings for total darkness.
  3. Make sure all the aids and equipments are in good conditions.
  4. Arrange the audio visual aids in proper sequence and have them within easy reach.

3. Presentation

  1. Motivate the audience and stress the key points they should observe during the presentation.
  2. Present aids at the right movement and in proper sequence.
  3. Remove all the unrelated materials.
  4. Stand beside the aid and not in front of it.
  5. Speak facing to the audience and not to the aids.

4. Evaluation

  1. Evaluate by providing time for discussion to discover misunderstandings if any.
  2. Under take follow up studies and observe results.
