Hissardale
|
In Hissar - Punjab (now in Haryana), through crossing Australian Merino rams with Bikarneri (Magra) ewes.

Kasmir Merino
|
This breed involves 75 to 80% different Merino types and 20to 25% local migratory breeds (Gaddi, Bhakarwal and Poonchi). Merino types are Daline Merino, Rambouillet and Soviet Merino.

Avikalin

It is a synthetic strain of carpet wool, producing sheep, evolved at Centre for Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSWRI), Avikanagar by crossing Rambouillet with Malpura and the level of exotic inheritance is between 50 to 65%.

Evolved by crossing Rambouillet with Nali and Chokla

Evolved in SBRS, Sandynallah, by crossing Merino(5/8) with Nilgiri (3/8); then by inter se mating followed by selection.

Evolved at CSWRI, Avikanagar through crossbreeding Nali and Chokla ewes with Rambouillet and soviet Merino rams having more than 3/4 exotic inheritance.

A strain developed br crossing Malpura and Sonadi with British mutton breeds namely Dorset and Suffolk.
