           The carcass yield or the dressing percentage is estimated by comparing the hot carcass weight and the live weight and is expressed as a percentage of the live weight.

  • Carcass yield(%) = (Weight of the hot carcass /Weight of the live animal) × 100
  • It is influenced by breed, age and sex.
