  • These are agents which are used to control or abolish excess fermentation in the ruminal forestomach .
  • They are used in treating conditions of excess fermentation as occurs in bloat.
  • Oil of turpentine, formalein are some of the compounds used.
  • They are given orally by drench or by gavage .
