Physiological diuresis

PHYSIOLOGICAL DIURESIS

  • It is occasionally desirable to provoke diuresis in order to increase urinary flow or volume as in the case of treatment of cystitis or to prevent crystalluria with sulphonamide therapy, rather than with the intention of reducing body fluid volume.
  • In such cases increased water intake is sufficient.
