Precautions to be considered during Insemination

PRECAUTIONS TO BE CONSIDERD DURING INSEMINATION

• Work under very hygienic conditions, handle semen and A.I equipment correctly and do not try your own methods.
• Insemination of a cow not in heat should never be done, as pregnancy can never be established.
• Rule out pregnancy
• Introduce the A.I gun first at 45⁰ angle, then horizontally and glide along the dorsal side of the vagina.
• Never use force while introducing the A.I gun.
• This would lead to injuries in the reproductive tract and affect the conception rate.
• If an animal jumps or falls down, withdraw the A.I gun immediately to avoid injury to the cow.
