Type IV Photosensitivity

TYPE IV PHOTOSENSITIVITY

  • Photosensitivity where the pathogenesis is unknown is classified as type IV.
  • Examples include winter wheat, alfalfa, Brassica spp (mustards), and Kochia scoparia (fireweed).
  • Many plants that fall in this category may perhaps be type I photosensitizers.
