Constitutional Provisions- 42nd Amendment-1976 Article 48 A of the Indian Constitution

  • The state shall endeavour to protect and improve the environment and to safeguard forests and wildlife of the country.

Article 47, Article 48 and Article 51 A (g)

  • It shall be the duty of every citizen of India to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife and to have compassion for living creatures. It shall be the duty of state to protect and improve environment and public health and provide water, air and environment, free of pollution for the public.
