Introduction

ISOLATION OF BACTERIA

  • Microbiologists often necessary to separate the microorganisms from one another before identifying them. Isolation means separation of one cell from another providing adequate space on nutrient surface.
  • It will grow into a discrete amount of cells called as colony. since it arises from a single cell or unit, a colony consists of only one species.
  • For proper isolation ,a small number of cells be inoculated into a relatively large volume or over an expansive area of medium.
  • They have to grow them in artificial conditions. Isolation requires a certain method of inoculation as well as incubation and inspection.
