Cryopreservation of fish gametes

Cryopreservation of fish gametes

● Cryopreservation is the long term preservation of biological material (live cells) at  ultra-low temperatures, usually at -1960 C, the temperature of liquid nitrogen.
● So far success has been met with only cryopreservation of fish sperm, but not with fish eggs or embryos. However, invertebrate embryos and larvae have been successfully cryopreserved.
