Preparation of normal solution and standardisation
· 0.1 N sodium carbonate solution: Weight out exactly 1.3250 g of Na2CO3 and dissolve in 250 ml distilled water.
· 0.1 N Sulphuric acid: Pour 3 ml of the Conc. H2SO4 careful into 10-12 ml of water, cool, mix thoroughly and dilute to 1 L.
· To standardize, titrate against 0.1N Na2CO3 using methyl red as indicator.
· 1 N Sodium hydroxide: Dissolve 4g of NaOH pellets in water cool and dilute to 100ml in a volumetric flask.
· Dilute to get 0.1N solution.
· Standardize NaOH by titrating against Std. H2SO4 solution using phenolphthalein as indicator.
· 0.1 N Hydrochloric acid: Pour 9 ml of Conc. HCI carefully into 10-12ml of distilled water, cool, mix thoroughly and dilute to 1 L.
· To standardize, titrate against 0.1N NaOH using Phenolphthalein as indicator.
