Research and experience have shown that audio visual techniques can significantly increase and reinforce learning. Not only do they add interest to a presentation, but by engaging more than one of the senses, they also facilitate listening and remembering. A good teaching makes the learner to understand the subject taught. The extent of understanding depends upon the meeting of the minds between the teacher and learners. Audio visuals and visuals are effectively bringing about a meeting of minds. Meeting of minds will lead to increase the mental intake of the message communicated. Visual aids will not automatically increase teaching effectiveness however, they must be carefully designed to support a lesson and to suit a particular audience and situation.
