Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is a word processing application in Windows. It is developed by Micro Soft Corporation. When you start WORD for Windows, the WORD screen will appear with menu bar, title bar, tool bar, scroll bar, ruler etc. In MS-Word, the text typed is known as Document. Each document is stored in a file with extension .DOC.

Menu Options

File menu is used to type a new document, opening a document, saving a document, printing a document, etc.

Edit menu is used for Cut, Copy, Paste, clear, find and replace, creating book marks, etc.

Insert menu is used for inserting page breaks, date/time, symbols, document, pictures, etc.

Format menu is used for formatting text such as Font, Paragraph setting, tab settings, changing case, bullets and numbering.

Tools menu option is used for spelling check, grammar, word count, mail merging, recording macros, etc

Table menu is used for manipulating tables such as inserting and deleting rows and columns, sorting rows, applying formulas in tables etc.

Window menu is used for arranging all opened window in order

Help menu is used for word help
