5.2.3. Dorsal aorta and its branches
The dorsal aorta runs backwards along the whole length of the body lying beneath the vertebral column. In the tail region it continues with in the haemal canal as caudal artery. Anteriorly it gives off several small branches to the roof of buccal cavity. The following arteries that arise from dorsal aorta, the celiac supplies blood to stomach and liver, the anterior mesenteric supplies the pancreas the intestine and the rectum the posterior mesenteres to the gonad. The parietal to the body wall the renel to the kidney (and the femoral to the griddle region).
