11.7.3.The Line Trawl
The line trawl developed in Newzealand to reduce the drag. In this design rather than avoiding water flow into the net like in previous designs. This net is based on the theory that it makes easier for water to flow out of the net. Once it leads the fish into it, a series of lines are as far apart on the meshes would have been which they replaced. The reduction of drag in this design is not as high as in the previous two designs. Advantage is that all the lines are of the same length, which makes it easy to repair.
